Uta no Oniisan Musings...

I still don’t have any internet at home, so I’m at the English School right now with the lights off so that any people passing by won’t wonder why the lights are on and come in to investigate. *sigh* I can't wait for my internet to return...

I finished watching Uta no Oniisan. I pretty much marathoned it in less than 48 hours. Good times. It was very cute, and it definitely made me laugh the entire time. alexandral, I’m not sure you’ll want to watch it, especially if you’re wanting a love story. There were some hints with Ohno and his ex-girlfriend, and Ohno’s sister had a potential suitor, but nothing else really happens. The show’s definitely a coming of age story. I had some issues with the drama, especially with the producer of the children’s show. She seemed to be very wishy washy, and that got to be very annoying. However, there were so many things I was laughing over. Again, I love how most of the time Ohno either looks stoned or has a “WTF?!?” expression. The stalking by little children was great, too. Oh, and the random sound effects to go with the various facial expressions made was great. I also appreciated that the girl playing the Singing Sister became more likable further into the drama. Oh, and the inside jokes. There were a few times that Ohno’s character commented that he and the other Singing Brother weren’t idols (which was hilarious as both of them are members of JE’s boybands). They also had Sho from Arashi appear as himself, and Ohno and Sho had some banter about Arashi and Ohno’s character asked if he could join the group, and he also commented that he’d been told that he looked at Ohno. Good times. Overall, I liked it, and I’m glad aflaweddesign recommended it to me. Now to find my next drama to watch before the new season starts (though I should probably finish watching Bloody Monday, though I’m not really in the mood for something that mindwarping and serious)…

jdrama, uta no oniisan, bloody monday
