from geneva, switzerland! i am currently sitting in the city hostel geneva's computer lab after a very long, tiring, and fulfilling trip. two swiss francs gives me about 45 minutes, so i'm trying to use my time wisely. i've only got 24 minutes and 44 seconds left, so i've got to make this quick. i've travelled through france, switzerland, and italy in the past 10 days and although i really wanted to put a pillow over veronica's face and smother her at times, we're all good. it's hard being attached at the hip for so long. i'm ready to return to NYC and be in my own room with my own things. veronica's train left about a half hour ago so i'm all on my own in my little hostel bedroom, which is quite a change from the nice bed and breakfasts we've been staying at. it feels like i'm back in the dorms here. thank goodness i splurged and got my own room so i don't have to share with random strangers. now, i can cross "staying in a hostel" off my bucket list, even though this is barely a hostel since i've got my own space and sink and it is super clean in the communal areas.
we met this girl named cathy today at the train station. she's from pittsburgh and just moved to geneva for grad school. she was scared since she knows no french and she kind of tagged along with us for our entire sightseeing tour. she seems super sweet. i'm going to give her jen's information since jen lives in zurich now. maybe they can hang out and become friends. i know from personal experience how hard it is to uproot your life in favor of another where you don't know very many people. when i moved to NY, i was seriously depressed for about 3 months.
sigh. i'm exhausted and about 4.5 shades darker on my upper torso than when i left NY. my poor poor feet are about to give way. i have mistreated them and forced them to carry me for far too long. i got two charlie horses while i was here.
alright, well i've only got about 15 minutes left and i want to check what's left of my bank account. i'll write more when i get back to the states. au revoir! ciao!
