Summary: This is a sort of retelling of "Gawain and the Green Knight" (which does not do justice to the actual fic, imho).
I am recommending this because it is just ridiculously good and everything I've been wanting to read but didn't realize until the moment I was reading it. It's got humor, and adventure...ing. It's slightly whimsical, but not enough to be cracky. It almost as the feel of The Princess Bride if I were to explain it, at the books more serious moments. What really made me love it, though, was how in character it was. It just pulled me right in from the start because it was just so believably Merlin and Gwaine, and at the end of the day, that's always what wins me over, good characterization. Gwaine is by turns firm and serious and then adorably mischievous, while Merlin is his usual noble, brave, and somewhat confused self. I just love this SO MUCH. You all need to go and soak this up if you're lucky enough to have Monday morning off like myself, and leave plenty of feedback.
