Yay! Yay! I'm so glad you got to the Turin Brakes one first! Am downloading and waiting impatiently. And aww, thank you. *hugs*
*waits impatiently*
Oh man, you so didn't have anything to worry about in regards to having to pull a Kid A after Puppet. This was awesome. It's so brilliant. I can't believe someone actually vidded this song, and it's you, and it's so perfect! Now my knowledge of I-Man stops at that one episode you uploaded and a couple of vids here and there, so I'm missing all the main symbols and metaphors and all that, which makes me sad, but technically it's brilliant as usual.
Awesome title sequence. That is so cool. And I liked your style of cutting in this, the cutting into a frame, it really stresses the particulars of what you want the viewer to be looking at. "Two black lines" is a fabulous lyric match. Especially ~0:25 with their shadows on the floor, and just that entire sequence with them always walking toward us. 0:28 - love the blood thing happening on the beat there. 0:47 - what's happening there? Curse my lack of source knowledge. But it looked very cool and poignant anyway. (It's so annoying that I know it means something in context but I'm like the only person who doesn't know what it is!) 0:56 - the movement of the hands, followed by the fish going in with that same movement. Awesome. 1:34 onwards - oh, what an awesome gun shot. And then all the sepia tones flashing up on the beat after that. So gorgeous. (And also the way it was echoed around the 2:40 mark.) The shot of the screen, and then it going static, looks like your own invention? Again, can't be sure without knowing the source, but it looks very cool. Key motif! Yay! I love that you always have leitmotifs through your vids, it's such a big thing for me and you do it so well. I liked that shot of the tumbleweed earlier as well. And also the focus here on Darien's hands always holding onto Bobby. Slashy goodness, hello. Especially that shot at 1:52. How gorgeous is that? *melts* 2:03 - oh my god, I love that little half-turn there, the way you lingered on that shot. Guitar sequence!!! I was so looking forward to how you'd do that. Oooh, loved that filter, the way you built on it through how that hallway clip looked in the source. But whhyyy? Why tear out my heart with that sad lonely ending?!? You evil wench, you.
YAY!!!! Will have to rec this later. I don't think there's been a vid of yours yet that I haven't felt the compulsive need to rec. You are by far my favourite vidder of all time. *schnoogles*
I'm really glad you don't think this is like ten steps back from that puppet video I have grown to hate, because this one is... this is my BABY. I think it might actually need a little more work in some areas (there are one or two things that I would like to honestly change) but it's my DARIEN video, and once you see the series, you will understand just how precious he is. HE WEARS SHORTS, DUDE. AND STUPID HATES. AND HE'S A SUPERHERO KINDA. AND HE LOVES BOBBY HOBBES SO MUCH IT BRINGS ME TO TEARS.

I totally almost cut the guitar sequence out. And then I thought of you. And then I thought of that age-old meta about the non-lyric sequence of any lyric-music being a SAFE zone, a free zone to express ideas that would otherwise go unseen. But it was a scary sequence, man. I could have used some hand holding.
AND I nearly had a happy ending. But... but... that song is so intertwined with My Own Private Idaho in my head and Darien is just so tragic sometimes... I had to end with him shaking off the madness without Bobby's help. Gad. Bobby Hobbes. Darien Fawkes. *whimpers*
I cannot WAIT for you to see this show.

I just can't even say anything to this, because it really really makes me happy to hear that.
