Spam-bombed!

In the past hour, I've received 112 e-mails with the subject line "{Spam?} **Message you sent blocked by our bulk email filter**".

A HUNDRED AND TWELVE. I usually receive maybe 5-10 personal e-mails per week. (I have e-mail anxiety issues, so I barely use it.) Yahoo's spam filter works pretty well overall, so I'm not sure how these got ( Read more... )

A LOT of spam has been coming through my Yahoo account too.

I second the suggestion to run a virus scan. Sounds like your address was spoofed at the very least.

Your e-mail was probably harvested from someone else's (virus-infected) computer and is being plugged into the "from" line of e-mails the virus is sending out. You're getting the equivalent of returned mail messages. Really nothing you can do but wait for it to die down, and/or set up a filter to send all straight to the trash.

Yep, that's exactly what's happening. Had it happen to me before with my Yahoo account. What was really great was that I found out when "I" sent myself spam at another account!

I did complain to Yahoo back then about it, but nothing happened. It's a good idea to let the people you tend to email know about it, because their spam filter may accidentally filter your "real" emails.

I had the same thing happen to my Yahoo account ages ago. I switched to gmail and have never had a problem. Hope things have calmed down!
