(Posting twice in one night? Wow. I'm so darn prolific.)
greycoupon found another new radio interview with Katee Sackhoff that took place either last night or tonight.
You can download it here. Warning: it contains some HUGE SPOILERS, even on that download page. Sorry! Here are the
non-spoilery highlights. Oh, and the interview is NOT worksafe. ;)
-- The interview begins with some joking discussion of blowjob techniques. Apparently, "the balls aren't just there for decoration."
-- "The fans already think I'm pretty gross and talk like a truck driver." (Laughs)
-- She talks about her gay and lesbian fans, and how a woman interviewer in NY last week asked if she was a lesbian and "I really want to fuck you." [Editor's note: I'm not a lesbian, and I'd totally hit that, too. *g*]
-- She gets lots of marriage proposals. If she gets to 35 and near the baby limit, she should just call Hal from North Carolina.
-- Yup, she and Tricia do hang out together. They're really good friends. Playboy paid Tricia so much money that Katee said, hell, she should give it a shot someday. Tricia's husband is "very supportive." From what I can tell, she's only topless in the photos. Katee's going to get the magazine autographed and frame the pics.
-- She jokingly claims to be a compulsive liar. ;)
-- She has an "Emmy nomination" episode later this season. Even other people (who saw the filming) have come up to her and said so.
-- "Even when [Kara] does things that are just absolutely horrible, I try to go into that moment and find the redeeming quality and try to believe that what I'm doing at that moment is the right thing. ... Hopefully it comes across as being sympathetic."
-- Regarding the UB boxing: She pulled a groin muscle, so the kicking shots were very painful. She woke up the next day with tons of bruises on her stomach. Jamie was "wailing" on her.
-- She doesn't think the show will ever get any recognition from all the awards shows, because of the "stigma".
-- The cast and crew all think that Gaeta is gay. Every season's blooper reel has scenes of Gaeta daydreaming about male characters, especially Baltar. He added "I love Gaius" to the tattoo on his shoulder.
-- Regarding the show's future, she says, "We've heard rumors of two more years."
-- They all speculate (spoiler-free) about how the show might end. "I think we should end by landing on Earth in the time of Christ, with one Cylon left. And -- I'm very Catholic, so don't take this the wrong way -- and I think that Jesus should be preaching One God. Jesus is the last Cylon." They then joke about Baltar's current hairdo.
-- She was going to sing on an upcoming episode (a song in the background, not singing as Kara), but they couldn't get her into the studio in time. "Am I Whitney Houston? NO. Can I sing better than Hilary Duff? Probably." They goad her into singing for them, but she refuses. Later: "What does Hilary Duff have going for her? She's completely loaded. What does Katee have? Uh, she might be gay?"
-- She enjoys watching Flavor of Love, plus some other reality shows I've never heard of before.
-- EJO actually suggested that nobody eat anything while they were filming "The Passage". She said, "I need a burger. I need food. Look, I really love you guys and respect your craft, but I'm just gonna go ahead and ACT my way through this one."
-- They ask who she thinks is doing the best work on the show this season. She's really impressed by what James, Tahmoh, and Jamie have been doing. And Tricia is extremely interesting to watch.
-- They mention the Cylon threesomes and ask who among the Colonials should have one. "I think at this point it should be Starbuck, Anders, and Dee. My husband's got some nice throwdown."
-- Regarding the UB flashback sex: "That's what you think my O-face looks like?" Laughter. Her brother found watching that very awkward. ;) "It was in the middle of a sand quarry or something, and it was SO cold that they kept trying to do things to warm it up, like putting an electric blanket under sand. I'm sorry, but that's never going to work. And they wanted us -- okay, Jamie and I are completely nude in that scene. We had these little patchy things on. But you'll see me -- I crack up, I gave this cackle that was so loud when he stands up. I was supposedly laughing because he screams "I love Kara Thrace", but I was actually laughing because the little pouch that his na-na was in was swinging back and forth and bouncing off his leg. I almost lost my shit. I couldn't handle it. I was on the floor, in the sand, didn't care how cold it was because I was cracking up." Then she says it's always awkward when you run into the significant other the next time ("His wife is a wonderful woman") and you're like, "Uh, huh. Hi? Good to see you. Don't kill me."
-- They mention the scene where Kara marries Sam and "screws over Apollo", asking her if she ever gets upset at the script. "I do that all the time with her. I read things and think, 'You've got to be kidding me. The fans are going to hate me.'"
-- She hates the slow claps. She wants to just do them at random moments. In the middle of the flashback sex scene with Lee, she wanted to stand up and just start slow-clapping. Then (the radio guys start this riff) Adama comes out and makes a big speech to tie it all together, and he proclaims, "So say we all." And Roslin starts clutching her chest because the cancer hurts.
-- She jokes that she and Aaron Douglas do this thing where they only read their parts of the scripts. "Bullshit bullshit my line bullshit my line bullshit Douglas's line my line bullshit..." They hated each other when they first started the show, but now they're really good friends.
-- During "Final Cut", Luciana Carro drank eight cans of Red Bull to act so wired. She and Luciana would get in character and argue about which one of them was right.
-- The buzz she's heard about White Noise 2 is that it's better than the original, and the studio is confident enough to keep pushing back the release date into March. Who knows?
I do have an ulterior motive for posting about this. I have this *thing* about not really wanting to know too much about the actors themselves, mostly because it screws with my head and makes fic-writing awkward. I don't even listen to interviews or visit actors' websites, and I avoid autograph lines and photo ops at cons. Yes, I'm weird. But I did listen to Katee's previous interview with those guys, and I got a kick out of her saying that she'd taken up knitting. For the hell of it, I went by the yarn store and bought her a skein and some needles, and I sent it to the Vancouver set. Felt like a complete goofball about it, and in my note I specifically said NO response was necessary, but here's my e-mail address in case she had any questions about the scarf pattern. I never do that sort of thing. That was two months ago, and I didn't think much of it; mostly, I just felt embarrassed by my dorkiness. ;)
Well. In the interview (timestamp 19:29), she says, "Someone just sent me a box of knitting stuff!"
EEK. That was ME! Okay, I still don't expect a reply or anything -- just hearing that she got the damn thing has made me a giggly, squeeful fangirl. And now I shall go back to keeping actors wholly separate from their characters... well, after I squee a bit more. :)
