a big, jumbled mass of neuroses.

Cons have this strange ability to bring out every single one of my insecurities. I keep getting paranoid, neurotic, and near-weepy, all for silly, preventable reasons. Which is why I've spent most of the day napping at home instead of at the con. But I'll spare y'all the navel-gazing and instead talk about things that make me happy. :)

-- I finished another Jayne hat, and it turned out quite well. I have plenty of yarn left, so I might make more for anyone who's interested. Let me know! I also bought my first set of double-pointed needles, because I'd like to attempt socks. Hmm.

-- John Hodgman wrote about horror movies in today's NY Times Magazine. He's just as engaging a writer as he is on The Daily Show and those commercials. Hodgmania!

-- Without even really trying, I found one of the apparently rare BSG covers from TV Guide. And while making a Publix run yesterday with a fellow con-goer, the Lost cover started a fun convo about whether Locke or Eko would win a no-holds-barred smackdown.

-- My father is buying a laptop today "for work". He's a self-employed A/C contractor and has absolutely no business owning anything computerized. So this isn't necessarily a *good* thing, but it is quite hilarious. My favorite story about him and computers: Once, he figured out how to get on AOL while Mom was at church, but he didn't know how to disconnect or turn off the computer... so he unplugged it from the wall. And now he expects to use a laptop? HA!

-- Indi finished her fic. YAY! And I just might be able to do that 50 sentences thing after all, with a little help from Trinnifer. Speaking... she made me this S3 trailer icon, which is currently my favorite icon of all time. (linked for those who haven't seen the preview, but I can't wait to be able to use it!)

-- I bought bagels at Panera, and they're now in the freezer for daily reheating. Mmm. I've also rediscovered my love of cereal.

-- I really have nothing to complain about, because overall? My life's pretty damn good. :)
