2. The temp files haven't been properly cleared out. Windows is notorious for leaving bits and pieces of temporary files and folders littered all around.

Of course, I was repelled by Big Love for a very similar reason, so I can't say that I'm in any way representative. In fact, I know I'm not. But don't get on my case about it.
And I think the YAWG theory (Yet Another White Guy) proposed in the comments, with shows being about YAWG with the women only there to be attracted to him and nothing else, has some merit too.
Know what the most successful cable series are? Rizzoli & Isles and The Closer. Know who they star? People who aren't Yet Another White Guy. And the female leads are not there to be objects of sexual desire, as evidenced by the female leads being the protagonists instead of the protagonist's romantic interests.

I read the MonkeySee article too about Lone Star, which was overall excellent but I think she also missed a few points: 1) the promotion of that show by Fox was atrocious - they actually managed to make the show look like it had a truly dull plot/premise and like it was acted by blocks of wood (pretty wood, but wood none the less). 2) it was, as many have pointed out, another show with another all-white cast (with another male lead) trying to do Oceans 11 style cons that even Oceans 11 wasn't great at (the double con as a plot device is wearing thin for me). Frankly, I'm not surprised at all that Lone Star didn't do well, despite critical appeal ( ... )
