Culina Dempsey :)

One fine Saturday afternoon, Alan, Mark & Joan have decided to go to Culina Dempsey to support their chef friend, Jodin as his birthday was nearing & they all knew how much he wanted his friends to come to Culina to have a good meal. Initially, Jodin thought it was Alan, Mark & Mark's friend and he actually was happy because he always said Mark had pretty girl-friends & was hoping he would bring one for the meal. Unfortunately, it turned out to be Joan, Jodin's not so pretty girlfriend who was there to surprise him! What an unfortunate surprise for Jodin.

The interior of Culina Dempsey was bigger than expected. It was spacious, classy and needless to say, a beautiful place indeed to dine.

Jodin the chef brought his friends for a guided tour around the place. Definitely a haven for food lovers. Joan, who was not as knowledgable as the guys, decided to take photos instead of trying to act like she knows what Jodin, the chef is talking about. For Christ's sake, she can't even pronounce the names of most of the food products there! Hence, she did what she did best - taking photos.

A large spread and selection of seafood!

The more "atas" version of Kuay Chap, as quoted from Alan.

With a size like this, it's no wonder why its $7.30 for 100 grams.

Joan took the longest to decide what she wanted to eat as the menu was really "cheem" and she had to keep pestering Mark & Alan for decipheration.

In the end, Joan ordered the Scampi Pasta - which was TO. DIE. FOR. This pasta, albeit a tad expensive ($29.00), was HEAVENLY. The scampi was sweet and fresh and extremely succulent. The head was the best part, with all the roe and saltiness. When paired with the aglio olio pasta drenched in little chilli padi & olive oil........ You really have to try it! It's no wonder why this dish is such a favourite @ Culina.

Mark ordered the duck confit, which is duck cooked in its own fat. The outside was super cripsy and the meat inside was savoury and tender. The combination was extremely sinful, yet delicious TTM. In contrast to the rich flavours, there were some salad, mushrooms & potatoes to provide the balance needed. Girls who are on diets are not advised to order this - you will feel super sinful & guilty after this!

Alan ordered the perfect comfort food - the wagyu burger. Joan is not a huge fan of beef, but she must say its extremely juicy and cooked to the right tenderness.

Dessert with compliments to Jodin the chef. It was Green Tea Jelly with Espresso Coffee, a simple yet refreshing dessert to end off the heavy meal.

After the entire meal, they set off to Ion Orchard to meet Amanda Wong, who was supposedly dying of starvation. They then caught My Sister's Keeper, cried buckets and proceeded to the Cineleisure arcade to relieve some good old days. Joan even has a few videos of Mark attempting to DDR, Parapara & competing with Wong in some guitar game while Alan just laughed his way through.

They waited for Jodin the chef to knock off.. and took silly pictures with a Willy Wonka inspired specs.

And that concluded Joan's extremely annoyingly written entry.
She will not attempt to write this way for Qing's surprise 21st because it is way too tiring & she has 15 modules of OnQ E-learning to do.
