It appears that Gary Gygax has failed his saving throw vs Death. Apparently the Game Designer class didn't offer a very good progression for that.
Joking aside, while Mr. Gygax wasn't one of my favorite gaming personalities, and was often the butt of jokes at the gaming table, this does mark the passing of one of the folks who is important to the field.
