"Alien, adjective: Belonging to, characteristic of, or constituting another and very different place, society, or person; strange; Dissimilar, inconsistent, or opposed, as in nature: emotions alien to her temperament.
noun: An unnaturalized foreign resident of a country; A person from another and very different family, people, or place; A person who is not included in a group; an outsider; A creature from outer space: a story about an invasion of aliens."
The definition is so subjection to perceptions, is it not? Something that is foreign to one may be all-too-familiar to another. And as for the last definition, "outer space" could very well be replaced by "other worlds", in which case, aren't we all just the perfect gathering of "aliens"; each and every one of us~ If there was to be this kind of fuss every time a new arrival appeared or someone's origins revealed to be different from our own, the City would be unbearably chaotic. Not to mention it would get tiresome extremely quickly, so try to contain your excitement, ne~
Apart from that small aside, it seems that today is still quite the rarity in this place: a quiet day. No sword-wielding masses, no fires, no explosions, and minimal confusion from our newer arrivals... to whom I extend my welcome, of course. Think of this as a learning experience and you'll get used to it soon. We are adaptable creatures, after all.
To everyone else, I hope you're all enjoying this, no doubt brief, reprieve. And for those of you who prefer the usual excitement, I've no doubt you've already found ways to entertain yourselves, ne~
