Ooh Marvellous! This Week's Edinburgh Previews

Jul 02, 2011 10:17

So, these are the shows I've been asked to host at the Fishmarket in Northampton this week.

How exciting is this? I saw Wil Hodgson's preview last year and thought it was really good, and I've not seen John Robins do his stuff yet, so I'm really looking forward to this. Hopefully, I'll see a few of you there!

WIL HODGSON
What does breakfast cereal have to do with skinhead culture? Are Care Bears anarchists or communists? Why were Black Lace more punk than The Sex Pistols?

All these questions and more will be answered by cult storyteller Wil Hodgson as heard on Radio 4 and seen on Russell Howard’s Good News and Edinburgh and Beyond.

‘A passionate diatribe by a man genuinely enthusiastic about his subjects' (Chortle.co.uk)

‘A sort of cultural lay preacher' (BroadwayBaby.com)

JOHN ROBINS
LIFT YOUR SKINNY FISTS LIKE ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN
Join John for unbridled giggles, stories and tiny little truth-bombs.
It's a show about stars, suitable for both dreamers and doubters alike.

**** (Chortle) **** (Fest)
**** (ThreeWeeks)

‘Awesomely self-possessed' (Guardian)

'A complete and utter natural. Charming, intelligent, quick, and above all very funny' (Russell Howard)

'Brilliantly written, phenomenally well-observed stories' (Guardian).
