Things that stop you writing

I've had a very positive week on the whole. I had a good gig in Rugby on Thursday for the comedy, and a good poetry gig on Friday in Stony Stratford. My head was a bit marshmallowy for that one as I'd had a filling earlier in the day so a combination of adrenalin-filled anaesthetic, lack of food and a gulp of cider, or two, was not entirely helpful. But nonetheless, it was a good gig.

I went to London on Saturday morning for a BSFA meeting. I was a bit worried when I left the house as I hadn't seen our cat Frodo on Friday, but I thought she might saunter back in during the day. Not spending too much time at home, I assumed she may have been in and out without me noticing. However, I got back from London, and no, she hadn't been seen all day yesterday. We left again for Nottingham to go to see Richard Herring (who was fabulous - his best show ever), but still no sign of Frodo.

N has finished his writing project, but maybe I'm too worried, or tired, or both. I just have no energy for ideas today. I don't want to let time or opportunities pass me by, but my heart is not in it today.

N has said if the cat has not turned up in a couple more days, we will put posters round.
