I’m genie for you boy.

“How’s your birthday so far, Heejun?” Gyuri asked as she approached Heejun from the corner of the room. His friends had put together a celebration for their friend, a separate one from tomorrow where he would celebrate with his fans; this one was just him and his closest friends.

He smiled as Gyuri came closer to him. She was one of his closest friends, even though they had barely known each other for a year. She and her best friend somehow managed their way into the tight-knit group of friends and somehow had become inseperable. None of them could really remember what it was like before these two girls came into their lives. “Hey, Gyu,” he greeted, “What’s up?”

“I asked you first,” she winked. Heejun couldn’t help but find her cute. She had long hair dyed blonde (she told him she wanted to do it after seeing CL in Go Away), and big black eyes hidden under single-lidded eyes. In his opinion, she was very pretty. He didn’t know why she had antis. Of course, as Kangta approached them from behind, he kind of understood.

“Of course,” Heejun answered, “Having a blast. Just wish I knew where my girlfriend was.”

Hearing this confession, Gyuri laughed. Heejun tried to look annoyed but as Kangta rested his chin atop her head and wrap his arms around her shoulders, he thought they were too cute to even try to bother looking annoyed. “Don’t worry,” Gyuri told him, holding Kangta’s arms around herself, “You’ll see her soon enough.”

As if on cue, the band changed their tune. Suddenly, they were playing a pop song with a trademark opening. Gyuri just giggled and pulled Heejun to stand front and center, right in perfect view of the stage, ignoring the man that was hung over her.

On stage stood Gyuri’s partner in crime: Gaeul. She had long brown hair with blonde highlights and big brown eyes hidden under thick eyelashes. She wore a white mock-sailor suit, a matching cap and black high heels. She was dancing to the song, in perfect time.

“Tell me your wish, tell me the little dreams in your heart. Draw the ideal woman in your head and look at me
I’m your genie, your dream, your genie~”

When the song really began and Gaeul began singing, everyone made a surprised sound (except for Gyuri, who was in on the whole thing) and began clapping in time to the beat. Gaeul made the stage her own, channeling her own kind of sexy and swagger that she needed to perform the song properly. The band wasn’t her favorite, nor was it her style, but she thought this song was perfect for this occasion.

“That’s right, I love you. I always believe in you. Dreams and passions, I want to give them all to you. I’m a good luck goddess that wants (wants) to make your wish come true~”

“Own it, girl!” Gyuri cheered and Gaeul had to bite back a laugh. If this was any other time, she wouldn’t care. Performing was fun for her, so smiling wasn’t unnatural. But she was supposed to be serious and sexy right now, and smiling like that would have the opposite effect on her persona than she wanted. Gyuri saw her friend stumble a little on stage and she knew it was because of her, so she couldn’t help the loud laughter that happened next.

“Now this world is a stage for just you; a wave like the sound of cheering. I’m your path, your biggest fan forever~”

When the song was over, Gaeul climbed off stage and presented Heejun with a small box. “Sorry,” she apologized, “It’s not much.”

“Are you kidding?” Heejun asked and when he stood up, took the smaller girl in his arms and kissed her, Gaeul figured that was probably a rhetorical question.

Later, when it was time for cake, it was already pretty late. The seven were hyper and slap-happy and although Heejun knew he should go home and sleep so he could be awake and chipper for tomorrow’s fanmeet, he couldn’t think of anywhere else he’d rather be at that moment than right there. He had four of his best guy friends, all of whom had been there for him for most of his life and career, and two girls who, although they are new additions to his life, he couldn’t imagine continuing on without them. They were crazy, all of them, and he loved them. And, hey, he was a little crazy too.

Finally, Woohyuk and Tony appeared with the cake. It was kind of small but more than enough, round and had colorful icing. On it, they had counted out what looked like 32 candles and he didn’t know whether to be embarrassed or amused.

Instead of singing the normal Happy Birthday song, the boys had a better idea as they began to shout, more musically at first then growing less and less aesthetically pleasing, “sowoneul malhaebwa!” They continued and continued, until Heejun decided he had enough and blew out the candles. If only he had known listening to their chanting was the better part of the deal, he would have waited a little longer to actually make his wish because the next thing he knew he had a face-full of cake and icing.

Heejun let out an indignant shout as the others began laughing. They all backed out of the way as Heejun tried to get the cake off his face; Kangta pulling Gyuri by the waist and Gaeul hiding behind Heejun’s back. Unfortunatly for Gaeul, Heejun decided to take it out on the closest person to him: her. The cake he managed to get off his face, he mashed into hers, not thinking about make-up or anything else it was that girls put on their faces.

Gaeul shrieked indignantly and returned the favor and before anyone really knew what was going on, the seven of them were engaged in a full-blown food fight. Food flew everywhere, there wasn’t one of them who weren’t covered in some food.

Eventually, the ticked-off janitors kicked them out, muttering something about how much work they had to do to make that room presentable for the morning. They all left, laughing and having a goodtime.

“Happy birthday, Heejun,” Everyone said as the ‘goodbyes’ began and everyone went their own ways, sure to see each other again real soon.
