Shadow'Verse: Prologue

May 23, 2007 16:24

So me and shidobukatsu have been working on a collab verse now titled Shadow'verse which involves original characters, and later on characters from the DC'verses and stuffs. My characters are Kaleb Fisher aka Shadow and Akima Bell aka Mystic. These are the 'heros' of theverse. shidobkatsu is working on the villans and whatnot, and most are still under construction.

Anyways, I wrote the prologue today. It's only 190 words, but I rather enjoy it. Please, tell me what you think of it ^^

Akima was staring blankly at the monitor in front of her. The computer whirred softly and brought up the video of a moving shadow. The girl wasn’t even fazed. Her eyes, glazed with the look of being unfocused, slid from the monitor to her book on the desk.

“I’m home.”

“Uh-huh…”

“Have you been sitting here all day?”

Akima let her head drop back, her hair falling over the back of the chair. Kaleb smiled.

“It’s startin ya know…” he said with his southern drawl.

“Is it good?”

“It isn’t bad.” Kaleb stated plainly. He leaned forward and kissed the tip of Akima’s nose. “Go to bed mon cherie.”

“And miss the excitement?”

“It hasn’t reached us yet, but they know. Go to bed, we’ll prepare in the morning.”

Akima sighed, and picked up the abandoned book as she stood.

“Good night Kaleb.”

“Night Akima.”

The girl left the room and Kaleb took up the empty chair. He pulled up a new screen on the single monitor and watched as a dark figure moved around, preparing, scheming. A small smirk played across his face.

“Excellent…” he muttered, “Let them come.”
