My favorite way of writing a crossover is finding at least one thing that's mostly the same between the canons, in the context of the characters and/or setting I need to use ... and then weaving the rest of the story around that thread. In this case, yeah, that ended up pretty dark. But satisfying, in its way. :)

Thanks! Kind of made me shiver to write; I kept wondering what Rick & Co would make of her if they got to Alexandria before she did, but I decided that would be another story entirely. :)

:) Thanks! Some of the credit should probably go to the prompter for making me think up the idea in the first place, though. *shiver* Illyria + apocalypse is always going to be epic, but this would be a pretty dark variation on it!
