Not really a Walking Dead fan. Ew gore. But I like seeing these two together. It'd be awesome to see more of them later

:) Yeah, the main reason I stick with Walking Dead is for the characters, not the plot. If they ever kill Daryl or Rick, I'm so out of there.

I still stick with the show because I promised myself I'd stop watching if they ever kill Daryl or Rick, and refuse to get attached to anyone else. I know just enough about the comics to know it's an extra added layer of human-darkness over the show, and that's enough for me!

I loved the back and forth between them. Reminded me a bit of when Buffy and Spike would banter before season six (my favorite part of the evolution of their relationship was the frenemy status).

Daryl's a wonderful character and you nailed his voice and this bit 'maybe a hand taller than the older Samuels girl and not much bigger in the bust' had me both laughing and nodding my head in agreement.

On a completely random side note: I need Walking Dead icons. Nowish.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I was able to visit some of my family in the deep South on my roadtrip this year, and writing Daryl always reminds me of those backwoods Louisiana hicks with the big hearts and rough exteriors.

I think Daryl would remind Buffy of Spike, too. It's always entertaining to write them together.

I can pretty much guarantee that I'll never watch an episode of The Walking Dead (zombies = gore = me curled up on the floor to avoid seeing the TV screen), but this was a nifty tale, and I liked it. :)

Thank you! I'm glad you braved the fandom to read the story; the gore is definitely not my favorite part of it either, but some of the characters are made of awesome.

Please, oh please, tell me there is going to be more in this verse because I have been waiting for a decent Buffy/Daryl fic since the zombies took over and it hasn't happened yet, as far as I've seen.

Yeah, there's all of 11 works marked as a B:tVS/WD crossover on the AO3, and I have the only story actually marked for a Buffy/Daryl pairing (not this one; last year's wishlist fic). There really should be more.
