Anyone have preferences on the line breaks?

I can not keep you in my mind the way I always
try to keep people. You do not leave the same
smell on my sheets or the shoulders of my jackets.
All lines and no color, or all color and no lines,
so I can not make you stay for me to do what
I would like to with you.

You are new each time I pull you from
the closet: each stitch replaced with brighter
thread, each swatch faded or brocaded
in new silk. You would be unrecognizable
if not for the snugness around my arms
and warmth like sunlight.

You are the moon in every phase, and I
can not paint you all at once, the way
I do so yearn to keep you like I always
want to keep people. I can only gather
you around me, and hope you will
not trade too many threads in shades
of which I've become so fond.
