And they're all made of ticky tacky

I am finally on summer break. No more work and no more workshops. Dan and I have been enjoying our days off together. We've been working on things around the house and I spent all day yesterday lesson planning for next year. Which I hope is not a complete waste of time. So far two of my good friends have gotten totally screwed in these budget cuts. One voluntarily surplussed herself to try and get a job in north county, which is where we live. Well the only opening she was offered was to teach 6th grade at the new middle school which is in south county and farther than our current school. She has to either accept it or be job-less. My other friend was surplussed along with me and also offered her job back. Well someone with higher seniority needed a job and bumped her out of hers. So they offered her a job out of field, which meant she could teach art, spanish (she took 5 years of it just like me), or CHINESE. It was so ridiculous. She ended up being offered the spanish job and turned it down because she is not fluent at all. She is going to have to look for a job in another county. She was literally moving into her new place near our school the day she got the letter about being bumped. So things are pretty grim as far as education right now.Not for Dan though. He is definitely set for a job next year, which was no surprise after his glowing reviews. In fact he was just asked to be on the advisory council for the new polytechnic high school opening in Sarasota.

Still no seizures for Oz. Based on his cycle he's not due until August. So we'll see.

Tomorrow begins Paint Week '08. My parents are coming in to help us paint. So far we have only decided on Dan's office. We were going to go all out and put in a chair rail and crown molding. But we hope to sell this place once the market rises and since it is a bedroom we decided it wasn't worth the effort. We are still seriously considering crown molding in the living room though. I just can't decide on colors for the living room. I want something very neutral because it has to work with the dining room as well.

As soon as our house is somethign worth showing, I will post pictures. Then you can (hopefully) marvel at the before and after!
