thursday tumbles
Despite the face Jason is making, this post is not full of frustration. I just like seeing his throat exposed like that.
Is anyone else watching SYTYCD? I'm watching it and I just feel like this season hasn't come across as strong as earlier seasons. Like there hasn't been tons of suckage but by this point in past seasons, I would remember more standout routines than I am now.
What did you guys think of last night? Most of the consensus on the lj comm was that the cancer routine was not that great and manipulated emotions; and I'm going to partially agree that the mention of cancer (like disable daughters and dead fathers) will lead to people automatically going to a certain emotional place but I don't see any different when the routines are telling a story of broken lovers and longing, I would imagine that most routines are seeking out to tap into emotions and draw people to a certain place, and if the choreography is good enough, then you suceed. The music + headwrap were a big help to convey that message, though Melissa and Ade aren't my favorites and I don't see either one of them winning this.
I got excited for tonight's 100th episode but then I saw neither Neil nor Danny nor Sabra were coming back, so now I'm less excited but I am happy to see The Bench, and Wade Robson and the Hummingbird again.
Oh, and once again my favorite is sure not to win, but I don't care-- Jason has really been growing on me and I love it when he does jazzy routines!
I wrapped up Maus II today and I did like it. Now I'm ready to read more books.
