Perfect episode.
-The Winona plot still bothers me because her taking just a few bills didn't make sense to me, her taking the whole bag makes a bit more but it still shakes up my image of the her character I'd built from last season. This still feels like more of an opportunity to show how far Raylan is willing to go for her/someone he cares about and making it plain that Boyd and Raylan are, at their core, the same. Oh and is it too much to hope that the elevator ding represented the beginning of the end of the Raylan/Winona relationship, or more like the resurgence of it; I think Raylan will always have a fondness for her but they seem to not really be that good for each other. Gary is just trying to die, isn't he?
-Boyd in a suit. Raylan and that conversation in the courtroom: he's not surprised if he and Boyd try to kill/shoot each other again and they are both okay with that. Boyd's little twist when Carol Johnson (red head) said their history sounds like a love story (that's because it is!). Carol Johnson seems to have misjudged Boyd: he's not chaotically evil, as shown in his episode he's willing to inflict damage to right causes as he sees them. I think he will protect her but still sabotage things.
-Side Characters: Art probably knows what's up. Even if he does, I'm not sure what he'll do about it. Tim: please continue wearing shirts like that forever. I just like the way you lean. Oh, and continue offering Raylan illegal trips to Mexico. Rachel didn't have much to do, but I still really like her interactions with Raylan as well.
-Next week the Bennetts are back!
Someone else's
thoughts I completely agree with:
Save My Love” is an episode where nothing stops moving, where momentum is created through circumstance more than any particular plot event. It transforms the mundane into the truly suspenseful, delivering the kind of episode that is most effective when it is actually transforming something: no show could be this every week, but the idea that a show can become this at will is infinitely more exciting.
