Obviously I know the danger when following a popular media thing that there will probably be overexposure and it may bleed into other avenues of entertainment but damn tumblr, I'm sick of what feels like the third day of this Bisexual-or-maybe-not Blaine thing. And when it's beyond Glee tumblrs now, I just want to filter it out until it happens because speculation is nothing. Save the rage for when it happens. (My biggest worry is that the Kurt-Rachel friendship will be damaged depending on how things go down, that's what I care about more. Also, that Kurt may release the kraken and set fire to people.)
So there's this rumor/spoiler mostly confirmed that had made me think of this question.
Specifically relating to gender/sexual identities: does the canon have to label a character that identity in order for the character to be considered that identity?
Because I've considered Brittany and Santana to be bisexual after that whole lady kisses and scissoring line (even before with the sex is not dating line but that was ambiguous), and I do see them getting together at some point. Even after the bump of 'Duets' they still seem committed to each other's emotional well being--Brittany was the one comforting Santana in the hallways.
In the process of writing up this post, I've settled on it being important that canon verbalize it so it can't all just be written off as experiment or titillation or as merely subtext. Does that make sense?
Oh and Happy V Day! Go get some cheap candy during the day after sale.
