What is pleasing me, possibly most of all, about my upcoming trip is that in certain circles, it's a swear word.

BELGIUM!

I leave Saturday morning. I need to finish packing tonight. It's a good thing I'm taking a vacation, as I have felt the distinct urge--nay, need--to run like fuck away since I forced myself to finish the drive to work a week

Belgium! Cool! What made you decide to choose that as a vacation destination? I mean, I would go, but I'm curious because it's not like a usual top ten spot.

It was, admittedly, not my first choice for next-country-to-visit either, but a college friend is studying at university there, so the three of us in the States who roomed with her are all heading over for a visit. And, y'know, the more I learn about the country, the more interested I am, so it works out. :-D

Ooh, reunion! Fun. A friend of mine was posted in Belgium with the foreign service for a few years, I never got to visit but it seemed like a pretty nice place from her pictures and the stories of another friend who did make it over.

You're going to visit the Tintin museum, right? Right? That would be a main reason for me to go to Belgium. ;)

I'm honestly not sure if we are--we're dealing with four distinct personalities here, in about 7.5 days of trying to cram in as much as possible; I am fully prepared for there to be lots of squabbling. ;)

I LOVE BELGIUM! Wholly unironically too. Who could not love a place full of chips and beer and chocolate and amaaaazing paintings?

And pissing statues. Don't forget the numerous pissing statues. (My friends and I, SO CLASSY.) but yes, I'm basically going for chocolate, beer, chips, and lace. Oh, and art too. :)
