That? Was one fucking awesome acting exercise.

It was like a Greek chorus, or at least the one Greek chorus I've been in, and it was awesome. It also went incredibly quickly considering NOTHING HAPPENED. Doctor-Donna (and yes, the Doctor has found his mate, somebody who can be independent and do her own thing but still be his friend and holy crap, Donna rocks a bit, doesn't she?), get-to-know-each-other, bang-bang, creepy-creature, airlock, the end. It's all about the speech, the voice. It was a chorus, that went from pianissimo to sforzando, from a soloist or duo to the entire choir, fucking verbal choreography and Alice Troughton was a bit of a conductor as well as director and I really, really, really dig this kind of thing.

Any episode of Doctor Who is instantly made creepier when the Doctor himself is scared, and DT did a brilliant job at projecting terror without actually being able to move an inch (mostly through attempting to move that inch--you could see the way his neck was straining, his widened eyes, screaming LET ME OUT).

So, yes, I am heartily impressed at a technical level with this episode. Just--wow. Sweet.
