okay, so. i hate loathe despise and detest my writing professor. a sad fact about university: having a PhD does not qualify anyone to teach. so my prof is a stupid twit.
she
- does not answer 50% of e-mails
- still has not given us a syllabus for the second term two months into term
- gives absolutely 0 constructive criticism on anything we give in
- our only way of getting constructive criticism is through workshopping, which she gives us 20 minute to do. which is barely enough time to read the essay, much less critique it
- has given me NO GRADES BACK since september, so i have NO idea how well i'm doing
- only has us read the work of people who are like, personal friends of hers
- drags us to readings that she organized for the sole purpose of making sure there's attendance
- gives vague assignments which she changes the instructions for at random
so we have this final assignment. what do i know about this assignment. it's supposed to be 2500 words long and it's a topic of my choice.

that's it. seriously. i sent her an e-mail asking: what format should it be? how long? is there anything in particular we should include? i'm REALLY IN THE DARK PLZ HELP.
she writes back: We decided in class that the final essay will be 2500 words. The assignment is intended to give you an opportunity to work on a topic of your choice. Best, J
so. write 2500 words about ANYTHING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD however the hell i want. THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING.
most of the class is really frustrated and upset with her as well. we're discussing via facebook filing a complaint.
i'm just so fucking frustrated. this class cost me $1000 and about 90 hours of my life that i will never get back.
what's worse is that she, again, is the only person teaching this class next year. so even more students are going to be subjected to this fucking stupidity.
