Wisdom teeth surgery

Dec 03, 2009 16:02

I got all of my wisdom teeth out this morning. I was a tad nervous because I've never been under sedation before, and the Doctor gave me what he called "The Michael Jackson Special". The surgery itself was strange; I got some laughing gas, which took the edge off while they put in an IV. Then a nurse placed something in my mouth to keep it open, and said I'd feel tired in a minute.

The next thing I knew, I was somewhere else, and Tom was with me. He took me out to the car. I was so out of it, I thought I walked to the car, but he told me the nurse rolled me in a wheelchair the whole way. Wow. I also had a vague sense that I had experienced something very important, and I had to remember. Of course, now I don't remember at all; no doubt it was some hallucination.

I'm doing well now. I've got 4 Advil and half a Vicodin in me; there's no pain and I have no problem eating. May the whole recovery period remain this smooth.
