Pew! Pew! Pew!

I haven't really updated in a little while. A lot has been going on over here. I've been busy, busy, busy seeking inspiration, sketching, and relaxing with friends. It's all been preparation for this autumn. I need to focus my art more, continue developing my illustration "style" and my painting "style." I think i'll actually take a break from my Etsy, maybe after my birthday. Toss everything. Or sell it in a lump sum. Start fresh <3

I want to spend time this fall passionately creating what I want. Hopefully that will result in some images for prints, and some paintings and drawings for gallery. I have like 4 sketchbooks full of ideas. And even more ideas waiting to spew outta my head and onto paper!

Besides all that, I had some good times this summer. After my french course ended, I went to Otakon, went museum hopping in D.C., went to NYC for a concert, chilled in NYC with my BFF, aaaand went to Hershey Park! More details, photos, and maybe even some comics about the funny things that happened this summer. Especially about this guy randomly sniffing his daughter's armpit. Or kissing it. It was odd. I'll have to comic that for you. It's a mystery for you until then. ;)

Ah! One more thing! I went to a concert at the Ottobar monday night. I went in support of my friends, Geist and to check out this band Kazuya (of Geist) reccommended. Gelatine is an amazing band. They exude the aesthetic i'm going for in my personal work, except theirs is performance/music. If you like punk and/or Japanese culture. You'd appreciate them. The lead singer, Seiko gives the wildest stage performances i've seen. Her whole body is constantly moving, thriving, and thrashing. Her facial expressions are the best. I did a sketch of Seiko at the show, and showed it to her. She hilariously made kissy faces and took pictures with it. I met the band, and they're all really nice people. The whole band is very cohesive and gives off a dark, but fun vibe. Like a mash of a campy horror movie, Deerhoof, and Japanese folk tales. Please go check them out here.

Also check out Geist. They are an japanese and metal inspired rock band. Their latest performance was perhaps the most passionate yet. A few mosh pits broke out and I jumped in! They've come a long way since their debut in 2007, playing conventions and shows up and down the east coast. They just finished their tour Cornicopia of Violence, promoting their new album Grotesque. The limited edition tour shirts' illustration was designed and illustrated by me. And their CD cover also features my painting. So keep on the lookout! Check them out, and hopefully i can find some photos of the shirt. Gelatine was wearing them!!!

Promise i'll make another update soon. Less blah blah blah, more draw draw draw!
