1. I am not commenting on Turn Left. Oh no, I'm so not. I'm...forget it, it was brilliant. I loved it; Tate was brilliant, Billie was brilliant, and oh my Fod. Tennant's face when Donna sad "Bad Wolf"/he started realizing who that woman might've been? I wanted to hug him so bad. (But LOL. Bad Wolf TARDIS = genius. I loved that way too much. xD) There's a thousand and one other things I could say about the ep (and the Doc's coming harem next week), but I'll be good 'n won't. But I will say that I'm definitely lost in a state of perpetual squee.
That being said, I should not have watched Turn Left before watching Camp Rock tonight. Now I'm seeing "Gotta Find You" as a DRose song, and maybe even "This Is Me".
That being said: wow. I wasn't expecting to like this movie. I was gonna give it a shot, but when I first heard about it I didn't think I'd like it. I mean, it was like HSM at summer with the Jo Bros. Then they started playing that movie theme, 'n I liked the song but I still didn't think I'd like the movie. Then they showed the previews with Mitchie singing "This Is Me" in the empty room, 'n I liked that song, but still didn't think I'd like the movie.
Didn't watch it last night, passing it up in favor of SciFi's showing of "Silence in the Library" (which was excellent fodder for an argumentative essay done on Steven Moffat 'n his need for new material - and yes, I did like those eps, even if I have many many issues with them), but I caught it tonight on ABC. And I'm prob'ly gonna head over to FOX ABC Family tomorrow to see it again.
Yeah, wow. I was very pleasantly surprised by it. I liked HSM, but HSM2 was monumentally better - and I think Camp Rock blew 'em both outta the water. I loved the Jo Bros in it (and I'm not really a big Jo Bro fan), especially the one who kept acting like an idiot (Kevin, right? I always get their names mixed up). "Oh - make me a birdhouse!" // "I have to stay here - stuff to finish." "Like making my birdhouse?" "..." "What? You could have asked him to make you something, too!" xD I even liked the snobby girl; she was boatloads worse than Sharpay, but I liked her - especially her turnaround in the end, 'n ho'shiz. Peggie's song at the end? Brilliant.
Also, Mitchie and Stoner's characters. I like Stoner anyway, but seriously - and wow, how much does Demi not look like her As the Bell Rings character? xD I liked most of the songs - well, all except CR!Sharpay's (well, I kinda liked her song at the final jam). Loved Mitchie's songs, 'n "Gotta Find You" just makes me smile (again: hello, Shippy). All in all, the movie was a pleasant surprise.
...that being said, I don't know if I wanna tune in for the new Cheetah Girls movie. I mean honestly, it's screwing their canon to hell 'n back. Where's Galleria? You don't have a Cheetah Girls movie without Galleria - according to their canon, the band wouldn't even be there without her (she founded it with Chanel). I liked the "One World" song they premiered at the end of CR, but it's just not the Cheetah Girls without Galleria. And also: I'm too much a fan of Cheetah Girls 2. I don't care if One World is completely brilliant (which I don't think it will be without all the Cheetahs); it's not gonna top that second movie. The music was too good, the plot was was fab, and c'mon. Barcelona. Indian culture/music is fun, but I'm a Spanish girl through 'n through.
(...ok, I'm an Irish (...er, Irish/German/British/Welsh heritage born States-side) girl through 'n through. But comparing India and Spain, I lean more towards the Spanish.)
P.s.: Showtime, please stop putting Secret Diary of a Call Girl ads everywhere on the net. I'm not even going into the whole "I really wanna see it 'n now you're just rubbing it into my non-Showtime-getting face" thing; I just wanna stop seeing her shoes. Seriously, those shoes are ridiculous. xD (...and honestly, is it really a 'Showtime original'? I would've thought it'd be listed as a BBC original. -eyeroll-)
