Hogwarts Elite!
All right, guys. This is an important post. Time for serious pimping and inviting you to embark on a crazy, wonderful adventure.
I'm part of a society of sorts under the name of hogwarts_elite, an epic Harry Potter community with severaul sub-communities. It's basically the closest thing we'll get to Hogwarts - on the internet and everything.
It is definitely not your average Harry Potter community. To get into the wizarding world, you must fill out an application over at sorting_elite and then be sorted into any of the four Houses (or, if deemed necessary, squibbed). Once you're sorted, you can join all sorts of communities! The most obvious, of course, is your House community. Take me for example - as I was sorted into Gryffindor, I joined lions_heart.
Other communities are diagon_elite (graphics), quills_elite (writing), housecup_elite (tally of House standings), and many more (including roleplaying and all of the official stuff).
hogwarts_elite is a community run on terms. In the terms, Houses earn points. There are several ways to do this. You need to sort applications, you can apply for a shop at diagon_elite, enter contests at quills_elite to gain access at prophet_elite, and if you don't think you can do any of that just quite yet - voting will earn you points!
At the end of each term, we have Hogsmeade weekend which is a weekend comprised of tons of activities to gain points before the House Cup is awarded.
However, you can be expelled from HE. Each member is required to sort 30 applications in one term (easier than you think) and this must be done. Also, if you're feeling you can't devote enough time to the community, you can resign. Don't worry - you can always come back! I had to resign for a while and I'm back now and ready to go!
I know the community seems a bit overbearing but it's such an amazing place. Everyone is so nice and helpful and you make great friends (it's where I met my brain twin - kitness!). It's tons of fun and you really form a family with your House. Definitely consider it and I hope to see some of you applying! It's a phenomenal group and I'm so glad I found it. I love it there and I'm glad I came back. I never want to leave again. 8D
