Bridget Jones style humiliation
Today I am wearing a rather nice summer dress which buttons all the way up the front (kind of like this but tie dyed and with straps instead of a collar), with a kaftan shirt type thing over the top to keep the sun off. I love this dress, but have not always had the figure to carry it off. So this morning I was feeling groovy in my lovely flattering dress. I had a meeting with a collaborator, a group leader in the Biochemistry dept, fortunately female. It was warm in her office so I pulled the shirt off over my head. When I emerged from the shirt she seemed to have acquired a look of slightly bemused horror on her face. A few seconds of confusion followed before she finally said, quite calmly, "You have rather a lot of buttons undone". Mmmm, about half of them, I'd say.

In other news, today I managed to get the 2 of the last 3 tickets for the Cambridge Folk festival "locals' night", so we are off to see Nizlopi next week, woohooo!! I am very fond of Nizlopi at the moment, I only bought their album because they sounded like nice people in an interview I read, and what do you know, they make nice music too.
