Karfreitag

... should be a time of reflection and quiet. In theory. I, on the other hand, continued with my "keep busy to cover the emptiness" policy and baked my Easter bread (known as Osterbrot by the Germans; a yeast dough, enriched with butter, eggs, milk, sugar and raisins). And the pistachio sponge for my Easter cake, to be finished tomorrow. And our favourite cheesy scones. The spanakopita got postponed for tomorrow, as we had tinned sardines and leftover salad for lunch.

I was fairly busy with the baking business all morning, but I had time for it, as German TV promptly omits all daytime series on holidays, bringing in films instead they believe might interest the younger generation. As a result, adults who'd like to watch the series they miss because of daily work, don't get to watch them during the holiday, either.

In the early afternoon I did some serious writing. More than I did since the beginning of this month. That makes me very pleased. :)

Adrienne, who was supposed to fetch her cookie tin today, didn't show up. Well, if she doesn't do so till Monday, I'll give the biscuits to the neighbours. At least AO3 seems to be back again, so I can hope for some nice fanfic readings. *fingers crossed*

baking for easter, writing, crap telly
