Of puppies and poor fences
Driving along one of the back roads around our house, i pointed out a yellow lab puppy running out so my mom could avoid it. We stopped and it stopped in the middle of the road to stare back at us. Immediately i got out of the car to grab him because i'll be damned if i'm gonna witness another puppy get killed by some IDIOT HUMAN flying down a road ignorant of everything around them! I noticed to my right, inside a small fence only containing a semi (i'm serious), was another lab puppy. So i set the one in my arms back over the fence and turned to get back in the car when my mom pointed behind me. The little sneak was crawling back out thru a gap between the ground and the fence gate. Sonuvabitch.
I picked it up again and looked at the two houses on either side of this fenced-in area, each with it's own fence surrounding its yard and a locked gate. WTF, people? How's somebody supposed to get you in an emergency? In the yard to the right was a Jack Russell just watching and i kinda stared from him to the two puppies to my mom silently asking one of them for a suggestion. My mom told me to put the pup back again and tell it to stay. I did. I was kinda shocked when it seemed to obey. Then the puppies ran to the right, thru ANOTHER gap in the shitty fence and into the Jack Russell's yard. I blinked as the Jack Russell kinda herded them further into the yard to play, then looked at us thru the fence happily wagging his tail. I assume the puppies belonged there and he was telling us 'thank you', but you can read that however you want. In awe, my mom and i waved and told him to take care of the pups (cuz their incompetent humans certainly don't) then we went on our way.
In other news: holy crap am i behind on mylar reading.
