So Saturday i externed at the hospital. I LOVED IT! I think it mostly had to do with my supervisor Kathy who was the friendliest, toughest, most insane person i've ever met. Unlike all the other supervisors and teachers i've had, she didn't make me feel like i was inferior or being judged. When i rolled a vein, my face got all hot but she simply patted my shoulder and said "Re-adjust. I know you got it." So i pulled back slightly and aimed more to the right to watch the tube fill immediately. It happened again some sticks later and again i had no problem. She kept praising me and treating me like i'd been working with her for years. She even treated me to breakfast. MMMMM, hospital food! *not being sarcastic*
Then we got a call for blood cultures. I've never done those, but in my book they always make them sound extremely hard to properly collect and if you don't IT'S YOUR HEAD! Not to mention the patient was in the ED (formerly known as the ER) so i figured the cultures must be extremely important. But Kathy calmly walked me thru it and i suddenly realized blood cultures are the easiest thing ever. Finally, she taught me how to take blood without using a tourniquet when there's no other choice. Happy to say i got it on my first try. When Jaimin came in for his shift he treated us to lunch. Awesome day.
SamCham: "We really suck." Watched the final ep on Adult Swim. God, i love this show. They even threw in a Jin/Mugen moment. Tho the very, very end had me screaming "NOOOOO! TURN AROUND, YOU ASSHOLES!" i am so buying the dvds.
SG-1: Oh yay. FarGate. Okay, just because you have the Farscape actors doesn't mean you should do a shitty Farscape-esque episode. No one cares about these people and i certainly couldn't give a crap if Vala and Cam lived or died. Stupid, pointless, idiotic, waste of an hour, generic, etc. You know how to tell if your episode is a failure? If the only good thing about it is a one-episode background character. Please to be dying now.
Atlantis: Ya know everything i just said above? Imagine the exact opposite here. Thank you, 'lantis. ...Even tho i kept wanting to ominously say "You die in the game, you die for REAL!"
