Argh!
So i waited all day for the ep, right? Let the anticipation build. Did my best to pay attention in class (missed two questions on my Phleb midterm--questions i KNEW but idiotically shaded the wrong bubble for--but i got a 101 thanks to bonus); waited when i got home until 11:30pm when i usually get online; even talked to Wika and Bug and did my routine before FINALLY settling in to watch Mommy/Daddy ep.
My comp crashed. Less than half-way thru. I think my fan broke cuz i heard whirring then a thunk and smelled something burning. I tried everything. It was only 2am! I took the tower apart and carefully wiped away any dust. Still nothing. I even said to myself "There has to be a 24hr computer parts store somewhere, right?? I'll be gone for 2hrs tops!" Then logic informed me that, 1) i don't know how to install a fan, 2) i don't even know if it IS the fan, and 3) i am dirt-poor broke. So i sat on the floor before my desk and moped in such a way it put Daddy to shame. I tried doing homework but didn't get very far. Trying to sleep didn't get me much farther. Now, after a sleepless night, i'm using my bro's comp.
Host Club: THE ep24. I'm putting this behind a cut because of spoilers and mass squee-age.
--Me no speakie Japanese. I'm speculating on dialogue with a bit of help from the gloriously crazy people at kyouyatamaki
--I guess Dad made it "floor-table-warmer" (not actual word) day at the Host Club. Haruhi asks her mom--i mean, Kyouya something and he replies by looking past her to a smiling Tamaki. As Kyouya sees it, the smiling Tamaki is surrounded by a halo of soft light. Kyouya smiles at the image and answers Haruhi as he snaps his notebook shut. (I'm dead on the floor, btw)
--Flashback to middleschool! Emo!Kyouya. Well...more-introverted-than-now Kyouya. A flower that hasn't yet blossomed under Tamaki's shining sun. We glimpse how his life and cold family is. His sister being the only exception. She keeps trying to organize his clothes but only makes a mess and OMG BUY A BIGGER DRESSER MAYBE, DUH! But that'd be too easy.
--Kyouya's dad (real one) tells him to make friends with the newly transplanted Suoh heir since they're in the same class and all. Not really love at first sight.
--Tamaki is rambling on about something. Apparently he wants to experience all of Japanese culture with Kyouya as his guide. Kyou's kinda like "WTF have i signed up for?" but keeps his cool and says something that sends Tama to his Corner Of Woe. Oops, can't upset the Suoh heir, can we? He relents.
--Which makes Tamaki MOUNT him standing up and rubs their cheeks together before jumping off and cheering something like "Kyouya-kun, Mon ami, yay!" Kyouya can feel himself dying inside. I've had multiple joygasms.
--The mounting happens, like, twice more throughout the ep. Tamaki drags his "tour guide" everywhere. Kyouya's still keeping his cool, but inside he's snarling and probably developing an ulcer. He lets loose to his sister and goes ranting about his room and punching couch cushions. He wants to kill something blond and flamboyant. Meanwhile, his clothes are strewn everywhere by this point. Even his dresser is like "Really, lady, it's not that hard."
--Kyouya comes home the next day to find Tamaki playing the piano for his brothers and sister. Kyouya CRIES at its beauty. Holy shit. Mommy doesn't cry! Mommy makes YOU cry! Holy shit! I love this episode.
--Later, they're alone on the couch. According to fans, there's talk about heirs and how Kyouya seems to think he won't be one due to being the third son. Kyou finally snaps! He flips the coffee table over, throws Tamaki to the floor by his shirt and straddles him. You want to squee, but Kyouya is very, very angry and you're scared he might hear you.
--I'm not sure what happens, really. Kyouya yells in Tamaki's face for a while, then Tamaki says something back and Kyouya starts LAUGHING. Hysterically. I've never heard Mom laugh like that. It's ten shades of awesome with a side of nightmare-creepy. Tamaki says something again which makes Kyouya stop and bop him on the head. A love affair friendship is sealed.
--Fast-forward a few months (i think) in the flashback and we're at Kyouya's mansion again. Tamaki is sitting at one of those floor-table-warmer things as Kyouya brings in their tea. Then Tamaki announces they shall create a club! A glorious Host Club! (i know that scene well) Kyouya, still standing with the tray, gently kicks Tamaki over and holds him down with his foot. Tamaki gives the cutest, most gleeful, most GAY laugh in history then looks up at Kyouya. Kyouya smiles warmly back.
--It ends with them still talking (mostly Tamaki) at the table, and Kyouya smiling at his own reflection in the tea. I guess he likes what he sees. The flower blooms.
--Next ep looks like the school festiv--OMG KYOUYA GOT BITCHSLAPPED BY HIS FATHER! wtfwtfwtfnooneknowswhy. Oh, and we meet Tamaki's evil grandmother. I wish she'd keel over. Old witch.
Oh snap. I think i just joygasmed three years off my life. Mommy/Daddy makes everything better.
