It happened! My prayers have been answered!
SciFi canceled SG-1! My show can die and RIP! No longer shall i watch it slowly die a painful death before my eyes as i cry for someone to just pull the plug and end its misery!
Fuck you; i am so a fan. WTF are you other people doing trying to sign petitions and rally at forums and make banners that say "But we just got the band back together"? Bullshit! *holds up Mitchell, Vala and Landry* Are THEY in the band? No. Do you see Jack anywhere? I mean, to STAY? Nuh uh. Is Hammond strolling around? Nope. Has Janet been magically resurrected, cloned or brought in from an alternate universe? Don't think so. Seriously, who the hell likes going to see an old favorite band only to find out during the show that vital members have been replaced over the years?
Trust me, people. Let it die. I say this out of love. It's been on for almost a full 10 seasons now, right? And has it been consistently good passed, say, season 4? Oh sure, there were good eps here and there for a while. A few laughs, a few tears. But on the whole, can you HONESTLY say it was fantastic and worthy of staying on so long? What scares you is you think you're losing your culture. Your family, friends and memories associated with the show. You're not losing that! Forums will go on, friendships will survive, conventions will probably still be planned even when you're too old and poor to get to them! The SG-1 we know and love--the heart of the show--stays with you. Hell, that's why we've hung on this long.
So please, let it go. This way we can choose to remember SG-1 how we want to and not be given proof every week that it's just not the same.
(Yeah, yeah, i know. Commence with the de-friending.)
