Well guys, looks like I'll be using lj to communicate for the next few weeks since chances of me getting on aim are slim. But who knows, I havn't gone into my father's office to see if he has a computer in there yet. Anyway time for the update.
9:30 AM sunday morning, dropped off at the airport. Drew a little bit until we were called to board.
11:30 AM - called for boarding
12 PM - plane fly away
12 PM - 1:50 PM flying, semi bored, not a bad flight.
First fun part. The flight landed in texas and according to my itinerary I've got just under an hour to find my next terminal. Wow...now that I think about it I can't remember a damn thing about being in texas. The only thing I really remember is finding my terminal about 10 minutes before they called us to board and some woman asking me if I was in line and whether I thought they would make her throw her coffee away or not...weird. oh well next flight.
2:30 PM - called for boarding
2:45 PM - plane fly away (part 2)
Now this flight was going to Germany. As you can imagine it was quite a long flight. Since you all know me so well, I'm sure you know that I went batshit insane sitting in a chair for almost 12 hours. Not only that but when I originally got my seat, it was a nice eisle seat in the back of the plane, but since Ossie is such a nice guy, he gave his seat up so that a couple could sit together. So I ended up in the middle of one of those 5 seat rows, 2nd from the right. Barely got any sleep on that flight either. blargh.
According to my itinerary we landed in Frankfurt around 7:10 in the morning.
7:10 AM - land in Germany, I had a 4 hour layover so I went to go find out where my next flight was. They hadn't scheduled which terminal my flight was at, so I was wandering around a giant German airport until they at least scheduled which section of gates it would be at. So I wandered around the B gates and sat around the display that said where all flights would be at for around 30 minutes until they announced for everyone on my flight to come check in. We check in, get our boarding passes, and they tell us to come back in about an hour or so.
Hour later, go to gate, wait for them to call boarding. Here is where the trouble begins. 20 minutes after we were supposed to board, they tell us there's a problem with the plane and they need to get a spare part to fix it. Plane has been delayed for 3 hours, they're going to feed us and we come back in a couple hours to the new gate. So we get food and we come back to the new gate. I sit for a couple hours till the time they said (3:15 PM I believe) and then they tell us its going to be another 4 hours. SO BY THIS POINT IM SO VERY HAPPY. Not only did I have to sit in Germany for an extra 7 hours, but then I have to get on a plane to Bahrain for 7 hours as well. It's a lot harder to sleep in a chair than I imagined it would. They gave us more food an hour before we got to leave.
7:30 PM - they finally fix the plane and pack us onto 3 buses and take us to the plane. We get to the plane and they make us sit there and wait for 20 minutes, just standing there. Apparently they needed to test one more thing first. HOW DO I FIXED PLANE LOLKLOLO!LWEODL!? so ya, im tried and want to sleep. We finalyl get to board the plane and just moving 20 feet to the stairs and up them outside was horrible. It was so cold and those black pants I have arn't exactly made for cold weather. Anyway, finally get on the plane, first row in coach on the aisle, good seat. Chatty arab guy sits next to me, can barely understand him. Oh well. Plane launch, ossie sleeps. This was the only really good flight since I was basically unconcious for the entire duration of the trip. Nothing out of the ordinary on that trip except me turning down any food offered to me. Ok, so we land.
2:30 AM - land in Bahrain. walking to customs to get into the country, finally can go see my Dad. OH HEY! THE SYSTEM...IS DOWN. doot doot doot...teehee...anyway, computer system borked, all of us trying to get in are sitting there for over an hour. The geniuses finally decide to check us in manually, if only they realized they could have done so sooner.
3:45 - get to walk through the customs. I run my bag through the last scanny thingy and...and...oh...you want to check my bag? yea, ok, whatever. what? checking my binoculars? no I dont think they have night vision...you wanna have them checked out? sure. Oh, you guys don't allow this kind in the country? I guess they did have night vision. Weird how it's a country that people go to to drink, gamble and do all the things you can't do in saudi...and yet i can't have a pair of binoculars. Blah whatever. they ended up shipping them over to saudi where I can pick them up this afternoon. I don't really care. so, anyway.
4:30 - see Dad, drive home. We get to the border, both sides give me crap about my passport. Technically I don't have an official passport to get into the country, but rather a lassez pass that allows me to cross the borders. Guess they don't see them very often. Regardless I can't follow the conversation since...they spoke that language that I should know but I don't. Oh well, Dad talked to them, I got in.
Well my sisters want to show me something on here. So I'll finish updating later. I hope you guys enjoy reading all that.
