[Raine has been set up at the barracks for a few days now, as she has been in a coma due to her injuries. Thanks to Doctor McCoy and likely some others who were assisting, most of her major wounds had been attended to, with most of the bruises finally starting to fade, and her wings still a little damaged

[Fenimore has no idea who this is, but, after helping out at the triage over the past few days, she's come to recognize the white-haired woman who's always unconscious as a constant. When she notices the woman has woken up, she leaves McCoy to deal with her, since Fenimore is totally unqualified for initial coma-awakening. However, next time she's passing and no one is attending her or visiting, she crouches next to the bed and asks in a gentler tone than she usually uses:] Are you thirsty?

[... There's something vaguely familiar about this girl, but right now Raine's in no real state of mind to place it. Instead she'll nod politely to the girl's question.]

[She returns the nod.] I'll be right back. [And she doesn't wait for a response before she heads off.

There's a bit of a delay in her return--while filling the glass, she's realized that she's not entirely sure if Raine will be able to sit up enough to drink. She's unable to think of a better solution, though, and she's not willing to disturb the others working in the barracks to ask about something that mightn't be a problem. So, after spending some time thinking about it, she comes back to Raine's bed and crouches next to it again, holding the glass up so that Raine will be able to see it.] Hey. Do you think you'll be able to drink from this?

[She gives the glass a thoughtful look. Her attempts at sitting up thus far on her own haven't gone well, and the other times she's had a drink, she's had help.

But that's a lot to verbalize. She attempts to sit herself up instead, but Fenimore can probably see what a struggle that is.]

[It's fairly clear that this is not going to be good for Raine, so there's some irritation in her voice and in the sigh that precedes it, though she's trying to otherwise keep to the gentle tone.] Okay, that's not going to work. Honestly, no was an okay answer. [She sets down the glass on the nearest flat surface and stands, trying to think of what to do. She could help Raine sit up a little, but it'd probably be better to get some pillows to prop her up with first....]

[She stops in her attempts, a little agitated with herself for not having the strength. Either way she has to wait until Fenimore comes up with a decision.]

[It takes her a few seconds, but eventually she glances over at some nearby empty beds. ...They won't miss a pillow or two for just a few minutes, right? It's not that likely this long after the earthquake that someone's going to get brought in and set on that particular bed. She'll get another one to replace it once she's done here.]

Give me a second. [She walks over and grabs another couple of pillows off an empty bed. When she comes back, she holds them up for a moment.] Are you up for letting me prop you up, at least? And I want the real answer this time.

[She's been propped up at least one time today, so that seems more feasible. And it's not like she's heavy. A real answer, hm?]

That's... fine.

Okay then. [A nod would have been enough, even if she didn't articulate it very well. But she'll just set the pillows down within reach and lean down to help Raine sit up.]

[It shouldn't be too difficult to help her up. More work for Raine rather than Fenimore, though she can't help but wince as her position is shifted.]

[Fenimore frowns slightly at the wince, but the best she can do is get the extra pillows underneath as quickly as possible to let Raine rest back again.] There.

[Fenimore will give Raine a few moments after the moving before picking up the water glass to bring it closer. If Raine takes the glass, Fenimore will let her, but otherwise she's intending to bring the glass to Raine's lips for her.]

[When Fenimore is close enough, Raine will reach out to take the glass with both hands. It looks a little heavy, and she almost doesn't make it.]

[Fenimore lets her take it, but she keeps her hands nearby in case she needs to catch the glass. She jerks forward towards it when it looks like Raine isn't going to make it at first, but she relaxes back when Raine succeeds.]

[A small victory in the face of all of this. Of course there's the manner of managing a sip. She brings it to her lips slowly. She can't drink too much at once since the name of the game is don't lose your grip on the cup, but she manages a tiny one, in any case.]

[After the sip, Fenimore leans back. It looks like Raine will be able to handle the glass, but she's still going to stay by the bed to reclaim the glass when Raine's done, since it looks like putting it on the nightstand would be rather more of a challenge. For now, she'll stay quiet and just watch.]
