[Derek's about to head off into the forest for his daily, er, 'spiritual communion', but he'll pause when he notices Raine pass by. he isn't into the trees yet, so he may be easy to spot. If she looks his way, he'll give a nod and a greeting smile.]

[Despite being distracted, she's doing her best to pay attention to her surroundings. That includes noticing Derek's greeting, so she'll slow down and eventually stop when she's close enough. She needs a sip of that water anyway.]

I thought I'd take the opportunity to try something new. What brings you out this way?

Always good to expand.

Trip to the trees. Easier to talk to the spirits out away from the village.

Being out of the village does help with concentration, especially when there are less distractions around.

Yeah. And more peaceful. Unless the journal opens up.

Of course. There are times when they could shatter any peaceful afternoon at a moments notice.

Usually after I've learned that it turned on by itself, depending on the situation. Thankfully, that hasn't happened for a while.

Yeah. Know the feeling. Mine seems to think I need to hear every loud noise in Luceti...especially when I'm taking a nap.

Perhaps you could try leaving it in another room when you go to nap?

...My hearing is a bit too sharp, unfortunately.

Getting used to it, but...yeah. Definitely quieter out in the woods.
