[Accidental Voice]

Hmm... so many, and only within the first week. It's certainly a concern.

[Written]This week seems to have been very busy. My apologies for being scarce. Everyone should be aware that there will likely be another wave of new arrivals shortly, since there are days yet left in the cycle. However, for those of you recent arrivals ( Read more... )

[Genis wanders into the kitchen, hoping to get a glass of water. He stops at the doorway and looks around a bit.]

... You haven't been trying to cook, have you, Raine?

[Some of the lemon and lime peels on the counter should be enough indication. Also, that odd smell from the oven]

Genis, what are you doing up? If you needed something, you should have just rang that bell I gave you...

I just wanted some water, so I thought I'd get it myself-...

[Okay, that smell is beyond odd. He rushes over -well, rushes over as fast as he can, given the state he's in- to the oven.]

What... exactly were you trying to cook, Raine?

[Well, little brother rushing over is no good. Raine moves to the oven as he gets there]

Don't -- it's not ready yet! [Not that she hasn't been checking it periodically] It's a cake.

You're trying to bake a cake? You know, I actually like this house and I really don't want to see it burned down, so...

What's it for, anyway?

I'm not going to burn the house down.

-- It's for Albert. I meant to make one a while ago, but there hadn't been any time.

Well, I hope you don't.

... Oh! That cake! [Aha, he remembers.]

... Why didn't you call me or anything? You asked me to help that one time, didn't you...?

Well, yes, but ... you're supposed to be resting. And it's not often that an opportunity for this kind of thing comes up...

I don't think I can rest if you're trying out one of your weird recipes, really. It's gonna be weird when Albert takes a bite of that cake and ends up like Kratos that one time you tried to feed him, remember?

They aren't "weird recipes".

They're the next step to culinary ingenuity!

Suuuure they are. And I bet you just have to sacrifice a few lives on the way, in the name of science or something right?

[He's just gonna go ahead and get a few bowls, ingredients and other cake-related materials together, since we all know how Raine's cake is going to turn out like :|]

[There are some used bowls by the sink, some with leftover batter. Are those colors even found in nature?]

No one has ever died from my cooking. And it's simply a form of thinking outside the box. Why should we constantly conform ourselves to the same ordinary recipes? I honestly don't understand why you don't take a few liberties...

It's just waiting to happen, really; you can't be ready with a First Aid for everyone who tries your cooking, you know?

And people do try adding some twists to recipes. They're just not as strange as yours. And they usually come out edible.

[He washes the bowls while trying not to look at the strangely discolored batter. And wonders if that's going to do anything to the plumbing.]

Who is to say that some of my creations haven't been edible? Everyone's simply afraid of a concept that's just a little bit different.

[She frowns slightly at his actions, but starts to clear up some of her previous mess, at least.]

I think we've all been on the receiving end of your food enough to know that they're mostly inedible.

Anyway - you wanted to make a cake and use those lemons, right? Did you at least find some sort of recipe to base it on?
