Which is exactly why I want to know. I don't want to just assume that rules from my world apply here as well.

That's an excellent observation to make. It's true that most things that one would consider logical to their own home worlds don't seem to exist here... granted, it all depends on the sort of world you come from, I suppose.

The world I come from has much more technology than this one, for example. Though I'm more interested in things that exist here that don't in my world.

This world is not exactly abundant with technology, no. As for the rest, in class, we try to explain to the best of our ability what to expect here. There's magic, as well...
