We first became aware of the Third Party's existence a few years ago, when we watched a live sacrifice take place over the network at the old ruins. We were told that the sacrifice was the only "true" way the Third Party sought to remove everyone from this world; a process which would erase their entire existence from here and their own world.
As for their origins, that's unclear. We only know for now that the only visible difference is that their wings are considerably larger in size. There was an incident that occurred in which some of us were 'possessed' by the spirits and gained large wings as a result, though we don't know if there's any exact correlation.
In any case, when they broke through the barrier to attack us, they refused to talk, or explain their position otherwise. Only the General did any talking, and his words were vague and cryptic. Their focus was to kill us, which would presumably free us from the enclosure, and, as we have been informed, sacrifice us as others have been.
So it's a mixed bag. We fight for our own survival, or at least, to our own limited knowledge. As for information we gather... it's mostly a look at how things are outside the barrier. The last time there were Malnosso civilians involved, and they honestly aren't any different from us, which is what we've been told all along. We all get brought here the same way. Unless of course, there were children born along the way... which then one stands to wonder how they get caught up in the cycles.
That still begs the question, who are our true foes and allies? Or can we only truly depend on one another? There's so much that I desire an answer for, yet I know it is impossible for all my questions to be answered at once. Perhaps what I fear most is the fate which will be in store for us all. Should we be afraid of this place and try to return home or accept things as they are?
...I apologize, Professor. You see, sitting idly by and watching others go off to fight is not easy for me... I've done that too many times. That is why this time, I wish to help the cause and fight our enemy. I already accomplished this in my home world and so I feel it is my duty to do it again for this world. If my thread of life ends in this world though, I am not afraid of what will happen to me.
Luceti has become another home away from home for me, I want to do all I can for it and the citizens of this world we all share. That is why I long to use my powers again in battle and to figure out the truth behind everything.... even at the cost of my very life.

We are our own allies in this place. As long as the Malnosso continue to use us for the purpose of their experiments, they're not wholly on our side either. Even with their purpose--which according to them, is to find the right shift to send everyone back to their proper homes--being what it is, we're still not in this location voluntarily. The current CEO tries to make us comfortable, which is different from how things were before, but the project remains.
I understand that it's a difficult position to be in. It's not one I like being in myself. With this process... it's not personal. Perhaps in the future, should this continue, there may be a time when you can join the battles, as well.

Earlier on, there weren't really any available explanations to all of this, as we had yet to learn any of it. The enclosure was smaller, our abilities were severely limited, and the only 'Malnosso' official to speak to us was someone who occasionally taunted us with cryptic hints as to what the next experimental Shift would be.

It will be my third year in about a week from now. Albert Silverberg has about six months on me, which is how we know the dates of the first new feather cycle. There are a few others who have been here between those dates, but... it's a falling number. Professor Gelda arrived about a month after me, as well.
Professor Raine, there's something about Mister Silverberg I wish to talk about. You and him both seem to know quite a bit about everything in Luceti and that is why, I was wondering if you could ask him to join us in a meeting when both of you return from the most recent draft.

He did record a visual history of Luceti during a Shift a some time ago... I've added it to the guide as well, if that might be of any help as well.
I don't think a meeting for us would be any trouble, once we've had the chance to settle in again. We can probably answer most things the same way, in any case.
Although-- that reminds me, I never did get the chance to speak to your friend directly. Professor Helios and I spoke about him temporarily housing his pony in the larger stables until the weather improves for him to build one of his own. I didn't want you to think I had forgotten, with all that's happened.
I shall look over that, perhaps I missed it the last time I did reading of the guide. And thank you, that would mean a great deal to me.
[He's taken by surprise a little.] Oh that would be a splendid idea, I shall talk to Feliks about this the next time we meet. Although, perhaps I could bring him to the meeting with you and Mister Silverberg? If you do not mind of course.

We can discuss it at school once we get back. Albert may put up a communication regarding the outcome of the battle, depending on how it goes, as well. Though if we're to get new feathers next month, it may be after the cycle quiets down.
