Well, despite my intentions the whole updating thing obviously hasn't been going so well. I just haven't particularly been in a mood to write lately. My life is in a kind of stasis with attempting to tie up loose ends before going abroad.
I'm also a little peeved at the moment. Over the past few days, I've gotten fed up with a lack of common courtesy among a lot of people I know. There have been several situations where I was planning on going out with friends and they either were late or didn't show. In each case the excuse was that I didn't have a cell phone. I'm sorry, but not having a cell phone does not place the blame on me. The simple fact is, if you think you might be late, plan better or arrange a later time in advance. If you're not going to be able to do something, tell me when you find out. It's incredibly irritating to get ready and then sit for two hours wondering where the hell you are. And if you don't even want to do something with me, save everybody the grief and just say so.
Sorry for that rant. But it's just especially annoying when I'm really looking forward to spending time with friends, and over the course of a weekend, FOUR separate times people are late or don't show. And when I say late, I don't mean 5 minutes, I mean in excess of half an hour. These kind of things are important to me, especially with only a little over a week remaining down here and then going abroad for a semester. Certain people mean enough to me that I make time for them in my life. I think it's only decent to be given that respect in return.
