Cool, I'd be really interested to hear what you find.
I suppose the tricky thing is, no matter what kind of categorizations you use, by the very nature of categorization you're pigeon-holing people. And when nobody can even agree on what a particular category name implies in terms of behavior or orientation or whatever else, then it's a real mess. But we can't not categorize. We're human beings and it's like our favorite hobby as a species. :D
I recently saw a special of some kind on satellite TV where they were showing the lives of a number of female transsexuals (I wish I could remember what it was called because it was really interesting), and one of them discussed how he was trying to get his passport changed (see, even our language sabotages us with those gender pronouns ;D) because he was technically female but was on testosterone injections and living life as a male and so on, and in the new passport regulations there's an option of being listed as "male," "female" or "other." That alone seems rather progressive... I can't imagine having that option here in the States.
