Oh. Oh wow. That is creepy and sad - and yet somewhat hopeful because Kaylee is there to help her. I love the way you ended it: If she can't tell Fred what was, she can always teach her what is: buckwheat pancakes for breakfast, swimming in the Storra, how to lie on your back with your eyes open, watching the clouds. After everything, that hopeful ending is wonderful.

But oh, the middle was so wonderfully creepy. I actually gasped when Fred started to talk like Illyria. The thought that Fred is keeping her memories bound and making herself live like that is so heartbreaking, and so like Fred.

This is just incredible. I really adore it. Thank you so much for writing it!

*smiles* Yay! I am quite glad that you enjoyed it. And hope -- I love hope. It would break my heart if Kaylee lost hers.

I'm so glad that Illyria coming out worked so well! That kind of feedback is quite good for the soul. :)

Yay! Glad you liked!

I loved it! Stories with a touch of scariness are one of my favorite kinds. Thank you again for writing it.

Also, I wanted to make sure that you still want to participate in this round of femslash_minis. After the stuff with your family, I absolutely understand if you want to sit this round out. Just let me know, sweetie.

First of all, I loved the story. :-)

Second, I've posted a small excerpt from your (extremely overdue) BSC story here. Just to show you that it's coming.

Thanks. :) The bit of story you posted in your LJ made me quite happy. I can't wait to read the rest of it. BSC, all growned up!

Wow. The bit about the Alliance was great and shivery, and then Illyria!voice coming out of Fred definitely shocked me and then the push between two personalities battling for control of that mind. Eek.

This is beautifully written. I love the flow of the story. The sudden shift to Illyria is very well done and I love how you've blended the two shows together.

Thank you! I haven't been in the habit of writing crossovers (well, not TOO many) until this pairing suddenly gripped me; I'm glad the blending of the shows worked for you. (And the shift to Illyria -- am *quite* pleased by how well that's gone over!)

Welcome to the flist, by the way; I'm delighted to have you. :)

Not many people do crossovers but I love them. Which, I guess is why half my ideas are crossovers....

Glad to be on the flist. You write well - I wouldn't want to miss out!

Oops, I did read this. Rereading "The Fermented" I remembered reading a fic of yours with Fred and Illyria fighting for control over the body, and then I clicked on this fic and as I read it I realized I'd read it before and lo it was the one I'd been thinking of.

I *love* the line "like tiny streaks of blue lightening have unburied themselves."

Yeah, and left feedback, and yet we both forgot that last night. Anyhow, am still glad that you love.

In reference to what we were discussing last night, when I was writing this, I thought that Wesley performed or had hired someone to perform a spell similar to the one at the end of S4 AtS, so that Fred was given an entirely new life, like Connor's, and this was that life, but at some point it occurred to me that perhaps the reason she got the future had something to do with Illyria's longevity, though I still do blame Wesley somewhat for having the two of them locked in the same body. (And clearly, need to better work out the backstory of what's going on in my own stories.)

Yeah, as I was reading and realizing I'd read it before I was like, "Wait, I left feedback about the Fred-Illyria change, using the dragons icon, and yet Ari -- and I -- forgot."

I was confused about what had happened to Fred-Illyria to bring them to this point in time with messed up memories [obviously, Illyria=immortal, but why the weird memories], but a Connor-esque spell makes a lot of sense.
