I feel like falling. A lot. Like crushing something. Something fragile and delicate and glassy. I don't know why. I don't know why I feel like crap so often these days. I know how you feel, and I'm sorry things aren't great for you right now. :(

Have you tried distracting yourself? Think of something you've wanted to do for awhile but haven't had time and get totally immersed in it. That works for me, and I've found that something totally fun (like writing/ reading fanfic) or something totally mindless (like a video game) works well. Lately, my obsession of choice has been the SIMs... But getting a Neopet (www.neopets.com) is also a really good distraction.

I can recommend some good HP fic to you, if you'd like.

HP fic recs would be great, as I have been looking to get into the fandom and don't actually have any idea where to begin... ty... but you know what I said about not being able to focus? Thing number one I'm not able to focus on: fanfic. I know, that's really a sorry state. But there you are.

Yikes, not being able to focus on fic is not good! Maybe you just need really good fic. ;)

So, yes, recs. (Yay! I love reccing!) What kind of fics do you usually like? Long ones, one shots, really intelligent fic, funny fic, canon-fics, AUs, slash, het, gen, all of the above...? And what characters do you like?

Or should I just compile a list of Good HP Fics in general for you?

Hmm... prefs... I'm an incorrigable slasher, but I don't have any pairings of choice in the HP fandom yet, so I'm open to ship het or slash...

Short fics would be preferred as I currently have the attention span of a gnat...

Not particularly fond of AU (except quantum mirror fic in the Gate-dom, but that's a bit different), being somewhat of a canon-whore. Depends on how AU it is. (In the Gate-dom, this covers everything from quantum mirror fics, which are allowed for canonically, to fics where there's no such thing as the Stargate and the characters are barely recognixable. I don't like the latter at all)

Gen is fine, humor is fine, serious is fine, any ratings are fine, any warnings are fine.

Characters: Minerva, Dumbledore, Sirius, Lupin, Snape, Hagrid, Ron, Hermione, Harry, Neville, Moody...
