I got in!!!!! I was accepted to City Year Columbus today!!! I can't believe it, somehow the funding worked out, so I start in August!! I am soooo excited, I wanted this so bad. I'm so crazy happy right now

i will try to give a brief overview. :)
it's an Americorps program, and Americorps is like domestic Peace Corps. the City Year program assigns corps members to a school for an academic year and you work every day mentoring and tutoring the kids, starting after school programs, etc. every morning you meet and do some basic exercises and stuff to get you going and then you go off to your school. and every friday you work just with the corps doing leadership training and stuff like getting CPR certified, public speaking certified, etc.... definitely an amazing experience.

oh! forgot an important part, when you finish the year you get $4700 for school loans, tuition, etc. so that's definitely a bonus. :)
