My friend Kris turns 19 next Friday. She's having a party in London, which I feel obliged to attend, mostly because I am staying at the house that the party is being held at for the weekend. The only problem I have is the theme: the 30s and 40s. I have nothing to wear! Oh woe is me. I did bid on a gorgeous black and white polka dot dress on ebay, but I was outbid at the last minute (it went for over £30 in the end - money I don't have). I've ordered this 30s pinafore dress off a vintage website:
But they need to contact me about shipping and I need to pay for it first. And I need it by Wednesday. And I don't even know if it will fit (although I do hope that it does turn up on time and that it does fit, because it's insanely cute). Failing that, I'll have to wear a green stripy dress that I have.
Crikey, my hair's short in that picture. And that was taken at nearly 8am after a night of dancing, sweatiness and no sleep. Anyway...
It's more 60s than 40s really, but it will have to do as I have nothing else, and no time to get anything. Although I am going to get a green clutch bag from Primark, and I'm going to wear my green "high heels of death", so called because they will kill my feet and I'll take them off within a couple of hours, maybe less.
I can't believe I've written a whole post about me worrying about what I'm going to wear to a birthday party. I'm turning into a freak.
