I was a geographer at Hull

I went to Bradford to see Alan Bennett's The History Boys on Wednesday. It was absolutely fucking brilliant. I had a front row seat too, which was quite impressive. I thought Steven Webb, who played Posner, was very good. And fuck, can he sing...but I think my favourite character in the whole thing is definitely Rudge. He just doesn't care, it's great. But yeah, everyone should go see it. I'm taking my mum to see the film in a couple of weeks' time. And I may have developed a small Alan Bennett obsession, buying Writing Home and Untold Stories, along with The History Boys on CD, from when it was on Radio 3. But yeah, it's great.

Last night I went out in Leeds with Bowlies (and anamour) to Carpe Diem. We went for a free gig, organised and run by Bowlies. I went mainly for Slow Down Tallahassee, who were excellent. Band Club were also good, but I only went over to watch SDT because my head was pounding and I don't think I could have coped with the stupidly-loud music. But it was lovely to see everyone again, especially Laura who I've not seen in about a year. And when we went back to Tea Towers (Lauren's house) we watched Withnail & I and Mallrats and ate pizza and Jamie smashed flapjack with a hammer, and we didn't go to sleep till 6am. So it was all good. But now I ache all over from sleeping on a small sofa, and I really need sleep, so I think an early night is in order. Hurrah!
