I've been a better lover with your mother

So, exciting last week or so then. I notice I've not updated since the day after I started my new job. Last month. Oh well. Anyway, to be honest the job doesn't merit much of a mention. All I do is open the envelopes, sort the forms, batch them up and scan them into the computer. Not much fun really. All I'm thinking about is the money really. One guy, Chris, has already left. I suspect he went insane from the mundaneness of the work. Nah, I bet he just got on that PGCE course he applied for a few weeks back. Git. Anyway, we have a new girl now, Louise. She seems nice, I can talk to her normally whereas I feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable with the other two (a homophobe and a guy with no friends. yay.). At least it's flexible, so if I do more hours at the beginning of the week I can leave early on Friday. Which is good. I did 8h50 today, out of 36h30 (I did half an hour more last week, so I get half an hour off this week. WOO.), so that's 27h40 to go. Woo! Hopefully that means I can leave early enough on Friday to go to Crewe to see Michael, but take it easy on the way and have time to hang about in Leeds and Manchester. I said I'd get there sometime after 6, but I'm hoping to leave work by midday. I want to look at jeans in George in Leeds, so I think I'll have time for that.

Anyway, enough about work and trains and shit.

On Wednesday I went to the Leeds Cockpit to see Cansei de Ser Sexy. They were brilliant, although the set was a bit short for my liking (but then, I guess they can't really play their earlier material, since it's all sung in Portugese). The power went out when they were in the middle of playing Meeting Paris Hilton, so that was fun. We had an impromptu rendition of We Will Rock You, and Lovefoxxx flashed her breasts, amongst other delights. But it was a damn good gig that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

On Saturday I went to Leeds again, but this time I went to the West Yorkshire Playhouse to see a performance of To Kill A Mockingbird. I've not read the book in absolutely ages. Duncan Preston (him out of Dinnerladies, and various other things) was staring as Atticus Finch, and he was pretty good. The American accents were a little dodgy, and the girl playing Scout was a bit quiet, but if you ignored the accents, it was really really good. My favourite character was the girl who played Mayella Ewell, a girl called Sally Tatum. She made the character really despisable, she's a really good actress.

Apart from that, nothing exciting has happened lately. The life of Natalie is dull, to say the least.
