The book "Hello, Mallory" pissed me off a little.

Anyone who's read that book knows thats the one where Jessi and Mallory join the club (well technically the very first chapter of "Little Miss Stoneybrook...And Dawn"). But anywho, I understand the issues Ann M. Martin was trying to address by making it tough for the Ramsey's and the racism they encountered. But that's not even the problem ( Read more... )

actually, i think it makes sense. it depends on here you grow up. she's a small child, and, as stated in the book, there were very few black families who lived in the town. there are kids even now that hat have only seen a few people of a certain color, whether it be white, black, asian, etc. Television and the media doesnt count. How would you feel if everyone judged black people from the warped way media portrays them? that would suck.

if claire had been 10 or older, yeah i could get your point, but shes 5 in a mostly white community. its not unheard of.

People did reply in a civil matter...you just wouldn't listen when they did and kept bringing up the topic.
